A background to my artwork

Here I share a little of my journey to artist from childhood to present day.  I also share a little insight into my artwork...

I’ve always loved to paint, create all sorts of artwork and draw since being a very young child. I wasn’t interested so much in dolls and the like but instead relished my time with a paintbrush, glue stick or a sparkly tube of glitter (maybe all three!) in my hands...

Then as a young adult, art took a back seat.  I lived in the USA for some years, got married and had a baby.  Later I returned to the UK and it wasn't until our youngest son started school, that I heard the 'call' to create some artwork once again.  Creativity and I have become well and truly re-united once again - it's felt like coming home!

The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.

I love to paint uplifting artwork that speaks of love, joy and the beauty of life.  My artwork is generally brightly coloured, intuitive, often includes heart-felt words of wisdom, vintage pieces of wallpaper or music and normally lots of texture.  I often paint women or the female form and animals, flowers etc.

Acrylic paint is my usual medium, although I find myself using watercolour more and more.  I also enjoy creating artwork using oil paint and pastel (oil/soft) too!

My creativity also spills into photography, my ecourses, when I work with women 1:1, in my home-making, cooking, writing a journal, doing creative activities with my children and oh, my husband makes bespoke stringed musical instruments (see below).
